...so, I had to pull my tomato crop! 55 tomatoes!! They aren't ready yet but hopefully, they will ripen on the counter so, I will be able to can them this week:-)
Do you have a trick to ripening the green tomatoes? If mine aren't starting to turn red when I pick them they don't seem to want to ripen.
I just froze 3 batches of tomatoes today. I can't wait to make some yummy tomato soup from them when the weather turns warm. I may get a few more weeks out of my plants but next week is supposed to be cold so I guess we'll just have to see.
Those are BEEEE-u-teeee-ful maters! I love fried green tomatoes! But I do hope they ripen for you to can!

ReplyDeleteI am not planting any winter crops because I have all of my rose bushes in there right now. I had to do that because of the remodel.
ReplyDeleteIf your tomatoes are ripening fast enough, trying putting them in a brown paper bag. They should be good to go in a couple days:-)
