And here is what the whole table looked like. So everybody...what do you think? To wreck or not wreck...that is the question.
As for a recipe, my SIL, Lisa served this awesome chili at the party. It is perfect for any chilly outdoor event like Trick or Treating or a football game or even looking ahead to caroling for Christmas. Without further adeau:
Lisa's Awesome Chili Mac
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 can kidney beans
1 green pepper
1 onion plus more for garnish
1 can tomato juice
1 packet chili mix
1/2 lb elbow macaroni
1 can diced tomatoes
Shredded Cheddar Cheese, for garnish
sour cream for garnish
Oyster crackers, for garnish
Directions:
1. Brown ground beef in pepper and onions.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients (except macaroni) to slow cooker and cook on high for 45 minutes or low for 2 hours.
3. Meanwhile, cook the macaroni until almost al dente.
4. Add macaroni to the beef mixture in the last 30 minutes of cooking.
5. Serve with garnishes on the side.
Definitely not a wreck IMO. I love the look. The chili sounds yummy too. It's getting cold in GA this week so I'm looking for a good stew or chili recipe. This one just made it to the top of the list.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
You are so creative!! I love the cauldron and the cupcakes. My mom's birthday is Thursday and I am going to do some sort of Halloween cupcakes.
ReplyDeleteso cool as usual. you are just so talented.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I love those cup cakes..that is just to cute....i just may have to steal that idea :)
ReplyDeleteNot a wreck! I like the witches! You did a great job on them-I really like their faces!
ReplyDeleteAnd the cake idea is awesome, how did you come up with that?
So not a wreck. I think the witches especially look great. They should look odd and slightly pissed. It gives them an extra witchy quality.
ReplyDeleteNot a wreck! Great idea in fact and you are creative. Your family must love having you around to help make such occassions extra special.
ReplyDeleteThat's nifty! BTW - You are up next for This Modern Mommy. can I send some questions your way? I would need answers emailed back by Wednesday night. Let me know ASAP! THanks!
ReplyDeleteI like the ideas. The cauldron cake would have looked better if the sides were more filled in, but I don't know how you'd do that. Definitely NOT a wreck!
ReplyDeletesee i was thinking that the pissy look on the witches were per-fect!!! I mean I run into a lot of "witches" in my job - and they ALL have that look on their faces. I'd say you hit the nail on the head. hahaha! looks yummy too!
ReplyDeleteI love the 'look' on that cupcake witches 'face'. Priceless!
ReplyDeleteHow creative! I love everything you've done. My baking looks like a toddler did it, which is convenient because I can just blame my own toddler now. :)
ReplyDeleteTotally not a wreck. So freakin' creative and tasty looking.
ReplyDeleteYou are so clever. I love the cauldron cake, the cupcakes are so cute...even if they are angry witches.
ReplyDeleteYou are very creative. And I love chili. Yummy.
I love them all, especially the witches. I'm sure they were yummy.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a fantastic job!! I love the witches....and how creative to put the cake in a cauldron!
ReplyDeleteNo--not a cake wreck! I like both the cake and the cupcakes. The cauldron idea is so cool and I love how ticked off the witches looks.
ReplyDeleteWe always serve chili for our Halloween party after trick or treating--it's perfect!
OF COURSE I see your delicious cupcake pictures at 11 p.m. Too late to buy a cake, let alone buy one... Now I want cake. I blame you for any grumpiness that may ensue...
ReplyDeleteThat is so not a wreck!!! It looks great!
ReplyDeleteI love Steak N Shakes chili mac....I'll have to try this recipe!!! :)

ReplyDeleteNot a wreck! I LOVE the cake & cupcakes! You are so talented!
ReplyDeleteSUCH a great concept! What are you talking about? Not a wreck at all!
ReplyDeleteAll I need now is a spoon so I can dig into the cauldron.
These are great! I think it's a great idea- so cute!
ReplyDeleteNot a wreck at all - and very cool concept! I might like to try it and add just the smallest few pieces of dry ice under the cake stand, then a little water to activate just before the cake is served - to give a real brew effect (but then, I am kind of a nut!):0)
ReplyDeleteI love the cupcakes - the expressions are perfect for witches! The chili mac sounds good too -
Thanks for joining the Pumpkin Patch Parade at 4-frogs!
