Pretty soon, it will be time to separate them into their own pots. They may be ready as early as next week.
I also wanted to show you my holiday plants. I started forcing my amaryllis a couple weeks ago and here is what it looks like now:
Although now, it is starting to slump. I fear that I might lose her so, I put her under the big light downstairs.
And, here is my Christmas cactus (sorry about the quality of the picture...my camera is really going):
Last year it didn't bloom so hopefully it will this year since I pruned it.
As a final note, I am going to buy poinsettias again this year. I tried to keep them 2 years in a row and I just end up killing them every time:-( It is my biggest nemesis but I will figure it out!!
I kill poinsettias also! I don't know what it is about that plant. I tried the dark closet thing and all.
ReplyDeleteMy aunt kept a poinsettia alive for a few years, but it never did look as good as it did the first year. I asked her what she did and she said, "I water it every now and then...." Gotta love 80 yr old aunts. ;-)
ReplyDeleteMy grandma had a Christmas cactus that bloomed at Christmas, Easter & the 4th of July....
ReplyDeleteWow I really wish I could get stuff to grow...I was born with black thumbs....I try so I guess I will keep on trying...lol....
ReplyDeleteLooking great! Thanks for stopping by this morning-I needed it!
ReplyDeleteI do not have a green thumb, so don't feel bad. Everything plant-ish dies in my house :D
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how much they've grown already! I inherited a Christmas cactus from my MIL once but I killed it before it ever bloomed.
ReplyDeleteWow, you grow that lettuce girl!! I've never had luck with poinsettias either, can't figure it out. Let me know when you do!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love what you shared on my blog!! That's an entire TT post right there!!!!
I will have to go to your Etsy shop soon!!
Yep, we kill those poor poinsettias every year too... Good luck with your flowers, and thanks for visiting me via BATW today.
ReplyDeleteI have never managed to force an amaryllis!
ReplyDeleteOH I love your plants. I want a Christmas cactus. They are beautiful when they bloom. I hope yours blooms this year.
ReplyDeleteThere is a lady here in Florida that planted her poinsettias in the ground and they took off. I'm like you I kill them every year.Let me know what you figure out lol.
Hugs.
Kim
Aw, look at your little blossoms!! You're really good w/ plants--I do NOT have a green thumb! My house even has a greenhouse that I've completely given up on and it's now overrun w/ weeds.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I have strange knack for keeping poinsettias alive waaaay past Christmas. I had a beautiful one that still looked brand new this past summer--but had to get rid of it--cruel, I know...I like them only at holiday time.
My mom loves poinsettias...and they do really well for her....I couldn't tell you why though.
ReplyDeleteI can't have them at my house because of the cats....
Your little seedlings are doing so well!
Oh I WISH I had a green thumb like you. My herb garden did well this year, but that has been my only success! Ha!
ReplyDeleteYour plants look great! I have a Christmas cactus that hasn't bloomed yet. It is still young though!
ReplyDeleteYour plants are really looking good.
ReplyDeleteEverything is really looking great! You've really got a green thumb!
