It's time for my youngest daughter's first day of kindergarten . Today, I am posting a picture of her on her new bus because on the way home...
...she got put on the WRONG BUS!!! My five-year-old kindergartner was allowed on the wrong bus on the way home on her first day of school!!! Thank goodness our school has a Men and Mommies on the Bus program and the bus mom figured it out right away! So, she was never really "missing" however, I was sick with worry until she made it safely back into my arms...an hour later!!!!
Apparently, after painstakingly getting all of her kids into the right line, her bus was late. So, in the shuffle to move her line to make room of another line, she got "misplaced". It all would have been fine if the bus hadn't been late.
But, all is well. She made it home on time the next day and the next so, head's aren't going to roll but jeezz....I don't ever want to be that scared again!!

Whew!
Well, just think of the story she now has about her bus adventure on her 1st day of kindergarten! ;)
you must have been so worried! :-( I would have flipped out! too bad they don't have a way to call the moms 'n dads on a cell phone so you knew that was happening, but that would be next to impossible having all those phone numbers on hand! at least she is ok :-)
Oh my Goodness! I cant even imagine how worried you must have been... Glad she is ok :)
Glad she made it home. I am not sure what I would have done. I told my husband buses seem crazy these days. I can see it is still true. At least she got home and did not spend time in the bus barn.
I am so relieved to hear that this ended well. I can't imagine your panic.
I think you've earned a glass of wine.
Poor baby! I would have had a fit too.
That happened to me when I was a little girl, too! So scary - I still remember it! Glad she got back to you safe and sound,

Phew, that is kinda scary! Good thing someone was paying attention!
Poor girl, she must have been a bit scared, and mommy too.
Oh my gosh, Susie..I would be totally freaking out!!
I'm so glad that the mom was on it!!
Oh my WORD that would have ticked me OFF! The bus left the transfer center without my 5th grader and pretty much her whole class. They started running after it and they all got in trouble for chasing the bus, that left them there because it wasn't where it was supposed to be and left early.
Morons.
Yikes! I'm so glad she made it home safely. So much for first impressions. Hope the rest of the year is event free.
I'm quite familiar with the feeling...that grip in the pit of your stomach, when you think something might be wrong. Glad she got home safe, and hope she has a great year!
That must have been exhausting for you. Just waiting! Ugh! I like the Mommies and Men on the bus thing though. That's neat.
Hugs
Kim
I would have been freaking out too!!! I'm glad they figured it out right away but I can't imagine how scared you must have been!
I hope she wasn't as scared as you were and that everyone was reassuring to her.
Thank God she made it home safely. I know how scary that is! We had that happen with keith in kindergarten as well!
Oh, no! Glad to hear she is ok. I would have been upset, too.
So glad she made it home okay! I have quite a few "fun" bus stories from my son's school, but I'll keep them to myself. :)
oh man! that would oh had me going! I am so glad to see a smile on her face.
Wow - what a great story to tell AFTER the fact :) Love the picture!!
