The beginning of the year is the perfect time to organize your calendar and that is what I did this week.
In order to get vacation time requested, it is important to figure out annual doctor's appointments, big projects and trip dates early. If your house is anything like mine, you have information coming at you in a million different directions. On paper, my calendar look like this:
Not the best system for someone who is dyslectic like me so, I use Google Calendar. It is color coded for each member of my family and/or by activity (i.e. gardening, work, cleaning, etc.). You can import calendars too. I have all my U.S. holidays on there and sports schedules so we know when and where the Packers are on. I even have an up-to-date weather forecast on my calendar so, I know if I need to move stuff around for a pending snow storm or if we need a plan B for outdoor activities. I meal plan on my calendar and I even started an editorial calendar for my blog. It is all right there in one spot! I love it!
Believe me, I need to make every second of my day count and Google Calendar helps me to do it:-) How do you keep track of your schedule?
Disclosure: I was not paid by Google in any way shape or form for this review. I just really, really love my Google Calendar and when I find something that works for me, I shout it from the rooftops:-)

Luckily we are not so tight yet on schedules, but yes, I need to get organized.
great idea! Ihave to have my calendar in my phone. I am forever on the go and when leaving ortho apptsor chiropractor appts., etc. and we re making the follow-ups I have to put it in my phone right then and there! I also have birthdays set as "recurring events" so I don't have to re-enter them every year! great job!
Wonderful way of planning. I don't use such a method. Must try.
I'm still trying to get organized like you....I did "start" my meal planner.
I love google calendar, too. I like that I can share it with other people...like those in carpool...so that we can coordinate all of our activities.
I have a calendar too. It does help...
What a great idea. For us I have a weekly list, we don't have any set times for anything but certain things I'd like to get accomplished each week.
Hi Susie!
What a cheerful blog you have! I love the cupcakes.
Will you be at blissdom?
I've heard good things about google calendar but I just still love paper:)
Awesome idea! Now that I'm a working (new) mom, I'm finding organization key to staying sane. My old method of mentally keeping track of everything is failing, so I'm off to check out Google calendars right now!
love the idea of using the colors
Oh, I have so many sticky notes on my calendar, I really need to give up and start over! You should be commended on your organization skills...
I got all organized yesterday and I feel like a new woman!
I'll have to check out the Google calendar!
Well, thank goodness for me, the kids school year schedule is done for them, so that takes out 99% of my stress! Other than that, I'll write it on a regular calendar that I have in the kitchen.
I need one of those!
I have one calendar for the whole family for appts. and such. I have two for my blog and a planner for my blog. I'm still a mess regardless.
I'm addicted to my iPhone calendar! It syncs to my work calendar, and it is an absolute godsend...
I have been using my computer.
I can't say that mine is terribly efficient, but it works for us.
We have a kitchen calendar for the entire family to see with all our appointments on it.
I have my Franklin day planner that I carry around which has monthly and daily pages that I use.
I also have a white board calendar in my studio with everything on it, so I know what's going on when I'm here at the computer.
Hubby has his calendar on his blackberry for work and he uses the Google calendar.
:D
Good Idea- Tackling something once a week! I should do that!
Following you from MBC, hope you can visit my site too!
I use it too! It's so cool to be able to share it with family too so they know what is going on with the kids.
