Meeting Donald Driver

As part of the United Performing Arts Fund Ride for the Arts Finale, my youngest was one of two Milwaukee Children's Choir members selected to interview Donald Driver, one of the great wide receivers that the Packers have ever had!

I LOVE how she stops him in his tracks with her outgoing personality:-)

The Yummiest Place on Earth

This may look like a very unassuming place but...

...it created these wonders of Epcot:

The Napoleon was the best thing on the planet!! It has the dreamiest French pastry cream nestled in between the crispest and flakiest puffed pastry you have every had. It was kind of messy and hard to eat but it was worth it. It was literally heaven on a fork!

And of course, no trip to France is complete without a French Chocolate Mousse:-)

So, I indulged...twice. And now, I  have to tackle the 3 pounds I gained but every step on the tredmill was worth it! That IS how you do it:-)

The Best Milwaukee Has to Offer

My youngest sang at the Kenny Roger's Concert this weekend. The enclosed video shows her and the other kids with Billy Dean (she is the one in the black skirt and white shirt). He kept calling them "The Best Milwaukee has to Offer". Then, they sang with Kenny in the last clip and she is the one in the red sparkly Santa dress:-) (sorry about the video quality)

I feel like I swallowed a hanger. I can't stop smiling. We are so proud!

We will be attending this wonderful event because my youngest is going to one of 10 children singing on stage with Kenny!!! We are of course very excited and very proud of her!! What an awesome way to kick off the holiday season!!! 

A 41-Year-Old Woman...

...should NOT be on this much medication!!!

I found a doctor in my network that practices integrated medicine and made an appointment to see her. According to Dr. Leo Galland, director of the Foundation for Integrated Medicine, this approach "couples the latest scientific advances with the most profound insights of ancient healing systems, giving you the best ways to preserve health, increase longevity and speed recovery from illness." It treats the person not just the condition. I am very excited about this! Hopefully, she will help me get rid of some of those bottles!

One of the things that has kept me away from my blog this summer was fun activities like going to the Wisconsin State Fair where they have a big yellow slide. This is my youngest's first solo ride:

First Overnight Camp

This weekend, we tackled my youngest's first overnight camp with the Girl Scouts. It was so much fun, mostly because I didn't have to plan it. I just showed up. They went on hikes (seen below), swam, did crafts, went paddle boating and played a TON of games.




My daughter's reaction?

"This was the best day of my life".

You can't ask for more than that:-)

Planning Planning Planning

It may be summer vacation but I have been working hard on planning for next year. Taking on the roles of both PTO President AND being School Organizer for our Girl Scout program is proving to be daunting.

My goals for the PTO are to hype up the marketing program. As such, I have been playing around with a 52-page Power Point presentation.Gir

As for Girl Scouts, my goal is to plan an all-school bridging. Not a small task because our school is large and the market share is large:-) A good problem to have.

So, I will continue plugging away at my planning in the hopes to have a successful transition in the fall:-)

First Grade Autobiography

This weekend, the whole family enjoyed my youngest's performance in her classroom play. My little singing butterfly. I am calling this a tackle because a lot preparation went into the event for her and for us.

At the end of the play, she read us the autobiography that she had been working on for months. Here her grandparents and older sister are listening intently:

Daisies on the Prairie

This weekend, I tackled meeting our Daisy troop out at a Little House on the Prairie outing on one of the local Girl Scout properties. It was cold but the experience was awesome! They got to learn all about how people who forged west in our country lived. There was a blacksmith and rifles and crafts and music and spindling yard and so much more!

Here they are grinding corn that they subsequentally made into Johnny Cakes over an open fire.
We learned that it was a hard but happy life in which everyone relied on each other. We have those pioneers to thank for building our great country:-)
