Spider Cake

With fall coming (along with Halloween), I decided to post my 3rd cake: The Spider Cake:-) I made this for my nephew's 10th birthday party which just happened to land on Halloween last year.

What we have here is chocolate cake with vanilla pudding filling that was colored red to look like blood. The frosting is white buttercream and the web is black gel. The spiders are vanilla cupcakes with black sugar on the "body" and black licorice legs. The kids thought this was really neat. Enjoy:-)

My daughter would LOVE that cake. Her birthday is in October as well and last year her party theme was a haunted house. One of the ladies I work with does cake so she made a haunted house that was sitting in front of a full moon and a couple of bats were flying by. It was awesome and so is the spider cake.

Hi Susie, I tried to find an email address for you to no avail. Are you up for to be a spotlighted blogger on our BATW trip to Wisconsin on Tuesday, August 26? If it is too short notice, that's fine I will catch you on the next go around. Click on my profile and send me an email either way!
